A mind of many matters has grown close to the culture farthest away. The dark days of the year are upon me and I need to let some things go. The Creoles and the Latinos, heights afar and tongues astray, but the love, the passion, the depth. Its all in me, yet was never around me. Well i have now slowly dipped my toe into the world of chefery.  OK I don’t even think that is a word and I also am pretty sure I don’t qualify as a chef. I have however made two, yes two whole meals that would be considered on a slightly higher level than my usual chicken patty fiesta or lean pocket smorgasbord. So last Wednesday was Ash Wednesday. This started the season of Lent or Lent period or whatever it is called. Since I am not Catholic I don’t partake in this ritual of giving up something from Ash Wednesday to Easter. But Kyle and I decided to do our own type of sacrifice during this time period. Technology is what guides us through life every day. We can’t go 5 blocks without our GPS, Internet service is equal to if not more important than running water and if we don’t have the ability to record 6 shows a night on each of our 1,500 cable channels well we might go all Kim Jong Il on somebody. There is no doubt that this wave of technological achievement has advanced our society in many ways. (more…)
